Private Chef in Palmilla, Los Cabos

A private chef for your villa in Palmilla — breakfast, lunch and multi-course dinners planned around your group, cooked in your kitchen and served at your table.

What to expect

Palmilla sits on the Sea of Cortez side of the Tourist Corridor, between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas — a neighborhood of private villas and resort residences where the kitchen is usually the best table in the house. We cook in it. Your chef plans the menu around your group, shops for it the same day, arrives about an hour and a half before service, cooks in your villa and serves each course at your table — then leaves the kitchen exactly as it was found. Breakfast on the terrace, a long family lunch or a multi-course dinner for the whole villa: same chef, same team, one WhatsApp thread from your first message to your last night.

How it works

  1. Tell us where you are staying

Your villa or community in Palmilla, your dates, your guest count and which meals you want covered.

  2. We propose your menu

A menu built around your group and the kitchen you have, with dietary needs planned in — not improvised on the night.

  3. Confirm and reserve

You get a fixed quote in writing. A 30% deposit through a secure Stripe link holds your dates; nothing is charged before you confirm.

  4. Access sorted before the day

If your community or property manager needs the chef on a visitor list, we send the details in advance so nobody is waiting at a gate.

  5. We shop, cook and serve

Your chef shops that day, arrives 1.5–2 hours before service, cooks in your kitchen and serves each course at your table.

  6. We leave it spotless

The kitchen area we used is cleaned before we go. You keep the evening.

Frequently asked questions

Do you provide private chef service in Palmilla?

Yes. Palmilla is one of the areas we cook in most: private villas, residences and resort homes along the Tourist Corridor between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Your chef comes to the property you are staying in — we do not host at a restaurant.

How much does a private chef cost in Palmilla?

Our fixed per-guest menus start at $40 USD per guest for breakfast and $85 USD per guest for dinner, with a six-guest minimum. Smaller groups can build a menu à la carte from two guests, and large celebrations are quoted as event menus from ten guests. Your total is a chef fee based on group size plus ingredients per guest, quoted in writing before you book — a 30% deposit through a secure Stripe link reserves the date.

Can you cook breakfast and lunch, or only dinner?

All three. Many Palmilla villas book breakfast on the terrace every morning, a relaxed family lunch on beach days and one or two multi-course dinners during the stay. You can also book a single dinner — there is no obligation to take the whole stay.

Will our villa’s kitchen work for a private chef?

Almost always. What we need is a cooking surface, refrigeration, running water, power and a clean preparation area — and confirmation that your villa or rental permits an outside private chef, which most Palmilla properties do. Tell us what the kitchen has (and whether there is an outdoor grill) and we build the menu around it.

Our community has a gate. How does the chef get in on the day of service?

Send us the property or community name and whatever your gate or property manager requires — most ask for the visitor’s name in advance. We provide our chef and staff details when you confirm, so access is arranged before the day. We also ask that someone be available to let the chef in at the agreed arrival time, so service starts on schedule.

What time does the chef arrive?

Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours before the service time you choose. That window covers setup, preparation and the table — you keep your afternoon, and dinner is served when you asked for it.

Do you shop for the groceries, or do we?

We do. Shopping for fresh, local ingredients is part of every service — you do not need to stock anything for the chef, and you do not need to drive to a supermarket in San José del Cabo. Market and seasonal availability occasionally require a substitution of equal or better quality. If you would also like the villa stocked with your own groceries, snacks and drinks for the rest of the stay, we can arrange pre-stocking separately.

Can you handle allergies and dietary restrictions?

Yes — tell us when you book. Each experience is one menu for the whole group served family-style, and a few vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free guests are always welcome at no extra cost. Please disclose allergies and intolerances in advance: we take every precaution, though our kitchens handle common allergens and cross-contact cannot be fully guaranteed.

How many guests do you cook for, and can the number change?

From two guests à la carte, from six for our fixed per-guest menus, and from ten for large-group event menus — there is no upper limit we cannot staff for, we simply add chefs and service support. Menu changes and guest-count adjustments are accommodated with at least 48 hours’ notice, subject to availability; the final count must be confirmed 48 hours before service because it sets the shopping and preparation.

Can you cook for a birthday, anniversary or bachelorette party at the villa?

That is most of what we do in Palmilla. A private dinner at the villa is the easiest way to celebrate with a group that includes kids, grandparents or people who do not want a restaurant reservation at 9 p.m. Tell us the occasion when you request — we plan the menu, the timing and the moment around it.

Can you add a bartender, service staff or a live station?

Yes — bartending and mixology, our Al Pastor live station (a taquero carving off the trompo), extra service staff and in-villa butler support can all be added, subject to availability when requested. They are quoted separately so your bill stays itemized.

Can you also arrange our airport transfer from SJD to Palmilla?

Yes. Palmilla is on the corridor side closest to San José del Cabo, so the transfer from SJD airport is one of the shorter ones in Los Cabos. We coordinate private transportation as an add-on — same team, same WhatsApp thread, and the exact timing and price confirmed with your quote.

How far in advance should we book?

As early as your dates are set — peak weeks in Palmilla fill first, and a specific chef and date can only be held once a reservation is confirmed. Short notice is still worth asking: we will tell you honestly whether the date is open.

What happens after we send a request?

Your request reaches our concierge team on WhatsApp. We confirm availability for your dates, propose menus for your group and send a fixed quote in writing. Your reservation is confirmed once the 30% deposit is received; if a confirmed service is later cancelled, the amount paid becomes a travel credit that never expires and is fully transferable to another person or service.

Reservation Policies

At Cabo Travel Boutique, our goal is to bring a seamless, restaurant-quality private dining experience into your home. Please review the following reservation policies before confirming your booking.

1. Reservation & Cancellation Policy

A confirmed reservation secures your chef, your chosen menu, and the shopping and preparation for your event exclusively for your date, so payments are non-refundable once received. However, if a confirmed service is cancelled, the amount paid is converted into a travel credit: it never expires and is 100% transferable to another person or service. If Cabo Travel Boutique fails to provide a confirmed service, our 100% guarantee applies.

2. Changes to Your Menu & Guest Count

We understand that plans may change. Menu changes and adjustments to your guest count may be accommodated with a minimum of 48 hours' notice, subject to availability. Your final guest count must be confirmed at least 48 hours before service, as it determines the shopping and preparation. Additional guests requested with less than 48 hours' notice cannot be guaranteed and may adjust your price.

3. One Menu Per Group & Dietary Needs

Each experience is one menu for the whole group, served family-style. A few vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free guests are always welcome at no extra cost — simply note them when you book. Please disclose any food allergies or intolerances in advance. While we take every precaution, our kitchens handle common allergens and cross-contact cannot be fully guaranteed.

4. Kitchen, Venue & Access

Please ensure your villa, rental or venue permits an outside private chef and provides a functional kitchen — a cooking surface, refrigeration, running water, power and a clean preparation area. Your chef arrives approximately 1.5 to 2 hours before service to set up, and handles the cleanup of the kitchen area used for your event.

5. Ingredients & Seasonality

We shop for fresh, local ingredients for every event. Market and seasonal availability may occasionally require substitutions of equal or greater quality.

6. Punctuality & Access

So your meal is served on time, we kindly ask that someone be available to give the chef access at the agreed arrival time. Significant delays in access may affect the service schedule.

7. Add-On Services

Live stations (such as our Al Pastor taquero), bartending and mixology, groceries, and transportation may be added to your event and are subject to availability when requested.

8. Delays Beyond Our Control

While we plan every event carefully, timing may occasionally be affected by weather, road conditions, power or water interruptions at the venue, or other circumstances beyond our control. We appreciate your understanding should these situations arise.

9. Venue Care & Conduct

Our chefs treat every home with respect, and we kindly ask that the safety and comfort of our team be respected in return. Our chef reserves the right to discontinue service if conditions become unsafe.

10. Our Concierge Commitment

Every reservation is personally reviewed by our concierge team to make sure your menu, timing and guest count are perfectly coordinated. If we see a way to improve your experience, we will reach out before confirming.

By confirming your reservation, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Reservation Policies. We look forward to cooking for you in Los Cabos.

1. Reservation Confirmation

Your reservation is confirmed only after the required deposit has been successfully received and a confirmation email has been issued by Cabo Travel Boutique.

5. Reservation Accuracy

Guests are responsible for providing accurate information, including the service date and time, venue address, final guest count, kitchen availability, and any dietary needs or allergies. Incomplete information may affect the service or require adjustments.
